Jackie "Jack" Loran Weathers, 65 of Savannah, Georgia died May 23, 2012, at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah, Georgia following a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born June 28, 1946, in Axson, Georgia, son of the late Loran Othel Weathers and Mary Sutton Weathers.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne Weathers of Savannah, GA; son, Richard "Ricky" Loran Weathers of Pooler, GA; granddaughters, Jodie and Jamie Weathers also of Pooler, Ga; nephews, Loran Weathers and Lamar Weathers of Whiteville, NC; nieces, Lynell Weathers Mishoe of Havelock, NC and Lisa Weathers Shipman of Leland, NC.
Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Garland Weathers.
Jack worked for Claxton Poultry for 28 years. He was an avid fisherman and spent much of his free time in the rivers and waterways around Savannah. He was an amazing cook and loved to cook for others.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 26th at 4:00 p.m. in the Islands Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, 4605 Highway 80 East, Savannah, Georgia 31410. The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.
